Cyrille & Wendy Early Aug. 10th thru the 12th of 2001 was the weekend I was to cat sit for my neighbor – Donna. Donna lived two floors up from me. She was going home for the weekend and this was the first time I had cat sat for her. No problem – easy job; at least that’s what I thought! Friday morning all was fine. Cats were great – I noticed there was an AC window unit in Donna’s window. Later that afternoon, I went up to feed the cats and found a handwritten note on Donna’s door. The note stated that it was illegal to have an AC window unit and that water was dripping into the condo below Donna’s. I looked around the window unit and found no condensation, went downstairs and checked outside for any drops of water leaking. There was none! I called Donna to let her know what was going on..and of course she freaked out. She told me to call Cy – Cy Early the gentleman who installed the temporary window unit. I called him, left a message, gave him my phone number and assured him that there was no need to drive out here. Later that evening he called me to see if everything was okay. He really didn’t want to drive from Falls Church…he was more hesitant about coming because he didn’t want to ride his motorcycle in the rain. The
next day, he called me again to see how the cats were doing and if I had
heard anything from the angry neighbor downstairs. He was very chatty
and friendly on the phone.
Little did I know that he later called Donna in Minnesota
questioning her about me – was I single, how does she know me…and so
forth.
Umph. Well, we continued to talk over the phone (random
conversation) and it was then that Cy was very curious to know how I
looked.
Yes – I know what you’re thinking – this is very strange!
He was supposed to email me his picture and I was to do the same (rather
him drive all the way from his house to Alexandria).
About 9:45 pm, I checked my email and read from Cy that he was
coming over and he’ll be in Donna’s place around 9:45ish.
I just got out of the shower (hair still soaked), I’m in my
pajama’s….who care’s right?
Well, the phone rings and its Cy! He is upstairs at Donna’s and
I told him I would come upstairs since I had to clean out the litter box
anyway. So, I went up – pajama’s and all and met Cy for the first
time. Through
the months we formed a friendship. Went mountain biking, explored Great
Falls together, went to church, and went out to dinner a few times.
A few months after, I started to like. REALLY LIKE HIM!! He went
home with me for Christmas and met my family. They liked him too! To
make this long story a little bit shorter – I’m so blessed to have
finally met the one that has truly made me laugh and someone who is
sweet, and will love me for who I am, and one that I can share my love
and friendship for the rest of my life! ”If
we love each other, God lives in us and His love is made complete in
us.”
