How I told Cy that we were having a baby!!
Labor Day
Weekend, Sept. 3-6, 2004

Cy and I drove up to
Kentucky to visit Cy's stepfather Jubal and his wife Loyce. We had a great
visit with them. We left SC early Friday morning so we could make it to the
Corvette Plant Tour held at 1 pm. The tour was really cool...was neat to see a
huge assembly line in real life.
Our trip to
Kentucky was very MEMORABLE!! One we will NEVER FORGET!
We did make it to the corvette plant tour at 1 pm that Friday. It was an hour
tour then afterwards we checked out the display vette's outside of the plant.
The vettes are there on display for people to get in them and check them out.
Well, to Cy's surprise - I told him to get in and sit in the corvette then when
he sat down and was checking it out, I gave him a card. He opened it AND WAS
SUPER SHOCKED! He was shocked of what the card had said and also that the car
horn was going off. Apparently the Corvette rep. was not too far away from the
car and was messing with Cy by pressing the panic button down -- the
explanation of why the horn kept going off. Still in shock and trying to figure
out how to turn the horn off from this $49,000 car....he was also in a shock
because he had found out he is going to be a DADDY!! YEP! We're going to have a
baby!! :) I had made a card and the outside were names of people we know; on
the inside I wrote "Congratulations, You're going to be a daddy! Now you
can call all the names on the card and tell them the awesome news".
We're so
happy! Cy was so happy, he couldn't believe it! He was so excited about the
corvette tour, I didn't want to take that "thunder" away from him.
BUT AFTER THE WONDERFUL NEWS...HE COULD ONLY THINK ABOUT THE BABY NEWS!
So, we definitely had a memorable trip to Kentucky! I couldn't believe it - I didn't say anything about the baby and held it for 24 hrs.- not telling anyone.
